Many of my favorite places happen to be the various dilapidated structures around my hometown of Madison, Alabama. This two room house is located alongside a busy road so that it has become an integral part of the scenery. I was compelled to paint it when another decaying house was knocked down. Although I see the need for redeveloping land for a more purposeful, uses, I believe that a part of history is being lost. I hope that with this painting that I may be able to show others of their forgotten beauty.
