My Nanny's House

My Nanny's house is my favorite place. I like to go there every day. We laugh and talk and spend lots of time having fun together. My Nanny knows how to have a good time.

My Nanny has a big brown chair at her house. It is a lift and dump chair. It helps her to get up. We sit together in the big brown chair and read books. We cover up with a special pink blanket Nanny crocheted because she doesn't know how to knit.

I like to bake at my Nanny's house. We make cookies, cakes, and pies. My favorite thing to make is apple pie. I make the crust while Nanny peels the apples. I put lots of flour on the table when I roll out the crust. Sometimes I make a mess with the flour. It goes on the floor, on my clothes, in my hair, and everywhere. My Nanny just laughs. She likes to be messy just like me.

My Nanny has a bed with a remote control. I like to make my head and feet go up and down. The pillows have slick covers so we don't mess up our hair when we are resting. Before we rest, we dust ourselves with powder so we don't get sweaty. Then we put on our sleepy hats and turn on our boogie-woogie music. This is the best resting spot ever.

My Nanny has a swing on her back porch. She fills up a tub of water for each of us so we can soak our feet while we sit on the swing. We eat ice cream and cookies, talk and sing songs to each other. Nanny says we are relaxing and letting the stink blow off.

My Nanny is in heaven now. Her big brown chair is gone. Her remote control bed is gone. Her porch swing is gone. There is nothing baking in the oven. But I still like to go to my Nanny's house and remember all the fun times we had together. I will always have my memories and I will always have my Nanny. My Nanny's house will always be my favorite place.
